I've had a request to repeat the Burrington Coombe walk that we did in September on Boxing Day - to help burn off all that Christmas excess and get you all out from in front of the burning log fire (if only!). The details of the walk are as follows:-
We'll meet in the car park at the bottom of Burrington Coombe and then take a steady circular walk that will take us past an abandoned house, then ascend towards the top of Mendip past a famous cave to the trig point that is the highest point on Mendip - you will get fantastic views if the day is clear - we'll then descend and cross Burrington Coombe at the top where we will decide if we want to extend the walk via Blagdon, Rickford and eventually back to Burrington. Distance will be about 7 miles if we do the whole walk - but well worth it just for the views.
And we can go for a beer in The New Inn at Blagdon afterwards.
