British blues is a form of music derived from American blues that originated in the late 1950s and which reached its height of mainstream popularity in the 1960s, when it developed a distinctive and influential style dominated by electric guitar and made international stars of several proponents of the genre including The Rolling StonesEric ClaptonFleetwood Mac and Led Zeppelin. A number of these moved into mainstream rock music and as a result British blues helped to form many of the sub-genres of rock. Since then direct interest in the blues in Britain has declined, but many of the key performers have returned to it in recent years, new acts have emerged and there have been a renewed interest in the genre.

This is a group for musicians, fans and anyone interested in British Blues and/or blues-inspired rock. We draw inspiration from bands like Led Zeppelin, The Yardbirds, Ten Years After, Fleetwood Mac (original group), The Rolling Stones, Cream, etc. and from musicians such as Jimmy Page, Alvin Lee, Eric Clapton, Peter Green etc. We hope to use this club to help form bands, arrange jam sessions, information about concerts, social evenings and as a forum to both inspire and share musical journey's and enlightenment.
