Pensions & Pints: A Special 'Educational' Meetup

  • Needs a date

  • Needs a location

  • Do you have money sitting in a pension back home? Would you like to know more about what options there are for integrating your British pension into your retirement plans here in Canada? We're looking to host a special educational meetup. Dates and location to be determined, but most likely sometime in mid-December in Vancouver. Once we gather an idea of how many people are interested, we'll look to determine a specific location and date.

I took my money out of the pension system before I left for Canada and have not looked back since without regret.

I took all my pension money out before I left for Canada and have never looked back. Sorry!

Can one do that before reaching age of retirement?

Yes within 2 years of starting the process.

    Hi everyone,

We apologize for not going through with this engagement. There has been interest, however everyone's schedules and locations were so varied that it seemed impossible to make something work.

With that being said, our commitment was to provide relevant information to you. Pension transfers are complex and not always the right option for everyone.

So, for anyone that is still interested in learning more, I would encourage you to shoot me an email. We can set up a time to discuss over the telephone and go over your details privately. We will do our best to inform you as to what options may be available to you.

You can email me at [masked]

I have only a small amount of pension money in the UK from my 2 year stint at working for Barclays - but it should still be a material amount. However, not being native to the UK and it being highly unlikely to ever secure a resident visa for me to return to the country that I love so much, I would like to know if there's a possible scenario in which I can extract my pension account. Any thoughts, advice or help shall be appreciated in the matter.

Hi! I am definitely interested in attending this. It's been at the back of my mind for some time as I'm pretty much retired already although I'm under 60. Thank you so much (in advance) for thinking of putting this on.

I hope that I will be in Vancouver long enough to enjoy my pension so any advice on how to avoid losing any money to transfer my pension would be a bonus. A weekend would be ideal if this could be organised

Can this be on a weekend as we live out in the valley?
