Pony Decorating Party - Blank Pony Co-Op available.

Would you like to use an existing pony toy to create a one of a kind pony for yourself?  I'd like to host a party for everyone who would like to give this a try.  You can either bring your own toy to mod or get with me and order a blank pony from the Hasbro store for $5.

Supplies you will need:

Paint markers or fine point sharpies (gold and silver ones work great) for cutie marks

Koolaid in the color you want the hair dyed.  (this will only work for white hair, or the hair found on the pony blanks)

Acrylic paints (some of these will be available, but if you have particular colors you might want to bring them)

If you would like to do a hair mod (taking out the pony's existing hair and replacing it with longer / more / different colored hair) please get with me and I can explain what supplies you will need.  This is an advanced mod.

Likewise, if you would like to add body parts to your pony with clay I can help with that as well. This is also an advanced mod.

Paint brushes of various sizes.

Other supplies will be made available at the party when we set up.

I was looking at ordering a few blank ponies to paint/dye/create my own http://www.hasbrotoyshop.com/my-little-pony-decorate-your-own-pony-98792?BR=704&SBR=303&ST=SO&PG=1 and it ends up that while the ponies themselves are $5 each, the shipping is twice that. However, they have free shipping for orders over $50. If I can get at least 10 folks who want one we can get some pony blanks for cheap! Anyone interested?

For an idea of what kinds of pony mods are out there, do a google image search for "custom my little pony".  https://www.google.com/search?q=custom+my+little+pony&hl=en&safe=off&prmd=imvns&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=uKv5T_boDKeQ2QW2otW_Bg&ved=0CEQQ_AUoAQ&biw=1153&bih=699

Fun and had some creative juices flow. I liked what Jamye has done for the first pony decorating event I went to and was informative.

That's funny I feel the same way about the new ponies. They are positively hydrocephallic.

the old generation are bit creepy, now that i look at it closer..
do they sell the generation four ponies as "blanks"?

Blank ponies are sold out from Hasbro and won't be shipping again until September 17th. I have picked up 50 previously loved ponies from garage sales and have begun the process of "blanking" them. I have all different colors so if you don't want to paint the whole body you can pick one the color you want and add a cutie mark of your choice. I'm going to be picking up some sculpy also to make a Cthulhu pony. I can teach you how to use acetone to "blank" a pony and also how to paint new eyes, cutie mark or other embellishments. Want a black pony with a biohazard cutie mark? I can not only do that, but we can make him glow! I do hope to see some of you here. Previously loved ponies will be $2 apiece.

Hmm, this sounds fun, but it would really depend on the location. I can't drive two hours to an arts and crafts party.

Picked up 20 old G3s today for cheap and we can dye the hair or rip it out and replace it. Some of them have gemstone cutie marks. Unfortunately the blanks are sold out at the moment but this is a cheaper alternative anyway.

First we'll see if we have enough to make the order (minimum of 10, although I'm willing to get 2-3 myself) and then we'll work out the logistics. You can also visit thrift stores to see if you can find old ponies in their toy bins. They make great practice ponies.

it could be fun to mod a few ponies.
    yea i'm in!
so how are we going to do this?
like i mean, how are we going to pay?

I like the idea of doing it as a group. Let's see if folks would be more interested in doing that. I'm both an artist and a teacher!
