September BABSCon In-Person Staff & Recruiting Meeting

Come and join the intrepid staff of BABSCon as we gear up to be bigger, better, and crazier than last April.

We have a lot of spaces to fill if we're going to pull that off and our amazing senior staff will take you under their wing (assuming they're a pegasus ;-) ) if you're motivated by lack experience.

2nds are the assistants to the Division Heads, who will take over in case of emergency. The experience should allow you to run the division in question at BABSCon or elsewhere.

Specifics on AV/Production needs:

Main Stage Productions Positions.

Monitor Engineer: Your job is very important. It's up to you to make sure the musicians have a good monitor mix so they can rock the main stage and the audience. Without you the performers won't be able to play at their best. People skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a good foundation in audio are required for this position as well as the ability to use the common digital mixers of today such as the Behringer X32 and Yamaha LS9. Prior experience in monitor mixing is also something that we will be looking for and is a big plus.

Assistant Stage Manager: One stage manager can't work the whole con. It's up to you to help manage the stage team, and keep things in clean working order, and keep the other stage manager from working his or her's hooves off. Prior stage (theatrical or concert) experience is appreciated in this role.

Stage Hands (looking for about 3): Responsible for helping with stage operations, and working with the Stage manager and Assistant Stage Manager to keep things clean and in working order.

Panel Productions Team:

Panel Production Lead: Responsible for interfacing with programming regarding panels that require Audio and Visual assistance. You have a really important job. Your role makes it easier for the main stage team to take care of things in the main stage, while also insuring that panels, and their respective board operators (Panel Production Team) are running smoothly and have everything that they need. Prior Audio/Visual experience and Management experience are requested for this position. Panel Operator: (looking for about 6 or 7): Your job is to help operate the audio console and give other Audio/Visual assistance to the panels and their hosts. Prior Audio Visual and convention experience are a plus, but not inherintly required for this position. If you're interested in Audio Visual and helping bring our amazing panels to life, then this is a great position for you.

      There is a lot on the opposite that parking garage. You will need to talk nicely to the front desk folks and explain you have a trailer and they should be able to get you in that lot. Be sure to politely mention you are here for the BABSCon Staff meeting. As a note of warning, the use of the extra lot is at their discretion but they tend to be cool about it.
