The ultimate My Little Pony mare-a-thon/ The ultimate brony challenge

2 season, 52 episodes, NON.STOP.PONIES!
According to iTunes, this is about 19 hours worth of content!

Our group is celebrating its 1st anniversary, and while this may be a little too late to schedule something that big for our exact anniversary, we can definitely do it in style!

June and July are pretty booked for now, so I'm putting this meetup at a tentative mid/end July or even early august/pre-Everfree NW.

we MIGHT be able to secure Ex'pression campus again for this event, but I'm seriously considering a house for that event. Streaming episodes should be a breeze now thanks to Netflix and countless of options (Netflix or iTunes episodes preferred though) and this will be one for the ages!
No sleep, non stop, pony action!
Prove that you are the ultimate brony!

Fun. And very tired but worth it!

In short, the yelling, screaming, and overall obnoxious behavior ruined what would have otherwise been an amazing meet.

I also agree, though it did quiet down. I understand the sheer excitement of getting to see the show on that big of a screen in a theater ect, so some rowdiness I get... but still, there where time when I couldn't hear the show.

Absolutely amazing. Nice and comfortable. Good snacks. Could use better ventilation though.

Tons of fun. It really was a different and totally great way to experience all the ponies. I absolutely loved watching all of use both shuffle with Discord and throw candy at Prince Blue Blood; among other less likable characters. Massive props to everyone who also made it from episode 1 to 52. There are some remarks that we got obnoxious, that it was hard to enjoy the ponies and episodes but that was kind of the point. We were there to share our love of MLP together and part of that includes getting interactive; cheering, booing, shuffling, ect. Any event where 50 fanboys get together and watch their favorite show is going to get loud. Adding S3 next year will be fun!

I just realized something: This was technically our 100th meetup for BONC. And boy, was it a big way to celebrate that. Here's to hundreds of more events to come and, once again: Thank you all for attending, be it in-person or virtually...

And it would have been the 99th one if that Mount Diablo meetup with three people hadn't happened.

My stomach turned on me part way through and I missed about half of season 2, so my fun times were dampened by that. Still, it was an amazing experience and I hope to do it again without getting sick to truly experience the wonder of My Little Pony and the BONC crew for nineteen hours.

I want to thank you all for coming and helping out to make this one of the best meetups ever. This was a meetup for the ages, something epic, and no matter if you stayed for a couple of hours or for the whole thing!

Although I planned it out months ago, It wasn't until 2 weeks ago when I got real serious about organizing it and making preparations, and I think it came out good since everyone had fun and we had some amazing, memorable moments, like Walter's marriage proposal and the final stretch of the royal wedding.

You've all made this an amazing event, and made me happy to be a part of this group. I am proud to have been able to organize something this big, and hope to make even bigger things in the future.

Thank you everypony, for a wonderful, once in a lifetime event!

I had a great time. Although I had to call it quits before sunrise, it was an awesome event overall. I just couldn't hang in the hot room. Livestreamed it when I got home because I felt bad for leaving. There were plenty of snacks, fun people and a marriage proposal! I've never seen so many pony heads in one place. I would describe the atmosphere as infectious and I think I caught someone's crazy. Congratulations to the die hards that made it all the way through. Hope to see you guys again.

Didn't ever think I could get exhausted from having TOO MUCH fun before but wow it was SO worth it. So much pony! Anyway, time to get some much needed rest and bring my A-game for next time! Oh! And congratulations to everyone who actually stayed up with us all night, you guys rock! Brohooves for everypony!

Woah! Where do I even begin describing this awesometastic event? Firstly I'd like to thank the organizers for hosting such a memorable get-together and everyone who attended and watched the Livestream from home. As for the event itself I thought it was mind-blowingly awesome! The venue was great, many people brought delicious food for everyone. (Including some much needed caffeinated muffins and drinks which helped immensely in surviving the challenge.) I had tons of fun meeting everyone and seeing bronies I had met before again. It was one huge party and there was not a dull moment to be had. We got to witness a wonderful marriage proposal, chuck candy at Prince Blueblood (among others), play games outside, tell hilarious jokes, sing every single song, play kazoos during the intro and much, much more! Most of all I enjoyed being in the company of other awesome people during this event and everyone I met was fun and welcoming. Thanks everypony!

First of all I'd like to thank ever single one of you for the amazing and beautiful time we had. It was simply great and I can't find enough words to describe the happiness. Every one of you is fantastic and this honesty was certainly the 'best day ever' since I moved in couple months ago from Argentina. It was Incredible getting to know you guys! Thank you everypony for bringing smiles and a more joyful and colourful world to me. A special thanks to Ohad for being able to make this event possible!

I had so much fun watching episodes of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic for the first time together with my fellow bronies. I almost made it all the way through but left when they started showing Season 2 Episode 21 Putting Your Hoof Down. I couldn't stay any longer because I was getting very tired and needed to get back home to Sacramento to rest. I can't wait for another event like this. I'm anxiously waiting for Season 3.

One thing I've got to say about this meetup. It was a Magic Kindergarten. I got this idea from a comment I found on the YouTube video "Houston Bronies S2 Finale Party: A Canterlot Wedding (Raw Crowd Reactions)". Be sure to check out this video. It looks very similar to what we did.

Thank you guys so much for sharing your love of ponies and I had tons of fun even though I wasn't really that expressive of it. I can't wait for the next meetup and I hope to be less shy next meetup. @ w@ I LOVE YOU MY BRONIES! <3

Call me dull, but the overall group behavior was abysmal and unbearably juvenile. Lines were being recited along with, songs were screamed through beyond recognition, punchlines were yelled out as or even before they were being delivered, painfully unfunny in-jokes were repeated dozens of times throughout, candy and other props occasionally bombarded the screen, and even more shouting and other loud and often times irrelevant conversation violated the already insufferably hot air in the room. Several great moments, even whole episodes were consequently ruined, and spoiled what would have been a perfect meet. They were apparently so loud and rambunctious that security became too watchful for anyone to take a nap outside of the room. I just wanted to cry over how frustratingly unpleasant of an experience it was. On the other hand, the setup itself was fantastic and more than accommodating.

This was the most awesome event I've gone to. I was so stoked about going to a mare-a-thon for the first time. It felt like I was in Kingergarten again. Going out of the theater room to use the bathroom and come right back brought back lots of memories of my elementary school days. I watched almost all of the 1st season. I took a 1 hour nap in the circle and was able to catch a lot of the 2nd season's episodes including my favorite one called Luna Eclipsed. The bronies said some of the most cool things about the characters as we watched. I laughed so hard when they threw candy at the screen when the mean characters would come up on the screen like Prince Blueblood. I can't wait for another event like this because this series is so addicting and it never gets boring. I'm looking forward to the 3rd season. Maybe when some of the 3rd season has aired we could do another one like this. Overall, this was a fun event. I'm very happy I attended and I'll be back again.

I had the strangest dream that I went with Hess and two other people to attend a Brony meetup. I met with familiar faces and new people. Had some snacks, drank some apple cider, watched probably 13 hours of episodes during the time I was there. I remember giving Pinkey a big goodbye hug. ...
Oh wait. I did attend this meetup. Too bad the spots were filled.

I need help asap! I want to get to emeryville from davis but I don't want to pay the expense of a train ticket (which is 33 dollars :< ) Is there a way I could get there via public transit? Assume I'm coming from the UC Davis campus

    October 12, 2012

    • Nymo

Looking at Google Maps, all the public transit options all unfortunately include Amtrak as the necessary means of travel between Davis and Emeryville. Sorry :(

      October 12, 2012

    • Sophianna K. A.

The only way is via Amtrack - I used to live in Sacremento years ago. Amtrack -or- greyhound. Not certain where the Greyhound bus depot is though.

      October 13, 2012

  • Sophianna K. A.

So.... I'll be looking into making muffins for this thing. Caffeinated Muffins. Originally I was going to order stuff from Cako, but I think baking them would be much more awesome. I don't know how many I'll be baking, but I -might- need transportation from where I am in Berkeley to the location in Emeryville... if I make too many. I don't drive, which makes making massive amounts of stuff kind of difficult in the transportation department.

  • Ohad K.

Alright, one last message before I head for bed:

    - Please, NO ALCOHOL! I don't want to be strict about it, but if I catch you sneaking booze in, I will ask you to leave. It's not permitted on college grounds, and this an all age event.

    - As mentioned before, it's a challenge, but if you feel like you can't do it or get tired at one point, there's no shame in going to sleep at the oval on school grounds or even going home (if you're fit to drive)

    - As my guest, you can park on the back side of the parking lot, and only there. You will have to register with security, but that shouldn't be an issue. There are designated parking spots that are tow spots, they are marked with green plates that say "EMS Parking", that's government parking.

    - For those who attended past events at Ex'pression, you know the drill. for the new ones, you will have to sign in with security on the main entrance, and then have either me, Nymo, Ninjapony, or security let you in. (cont.)

    October 12, 2012

    • Ohad K.

(Cont.) I'll put signs to help guide you to the theater room, it's room "563" on the other side of the hall, and it will have the event's banner on the door.

      See you all tomorrow!

      October 12, 2012

  • Ohad K.

Also, please no alcohol. Alcohol is not allowed on campus grounds

    October 12, 2012

  • Ohad K.

Sorry for the last minute notice, but there is a slight chance that the AC won't function as it should, so if you can, please bring fans, and some surge protectors.
