What if Santa Claus Needed a Spreadsheet?

WHAT IF Santa had a spreadsheet and was checking it twice? What data would he collect and analyze to determine if children were 'naughty' or 'nice'? How would Santa determine if he had enough money to build/purchase all those items on the wish list? What if Santa had to pay the Elves minimum wage? Who do you think handles the North Pole budget, Santa or Mrs. Claus?

To answer some or all of these profound dilemmas, you need to come to the Excel Workshop. If 4th Graders can do it, you can too! But how come Congress can't?

-When: Wed, Dec 18, at 7 pm
-Where: High Technology High School (HTHS), Room 145, Brookdale Campus, Lincroft, NJ
-Check website or call (732) 497-BCUG (2284) for last minute cancellations or for lockouts from the building after 7:30 p.m.

Topics
1) RANDOM ACCESS (Q&A for all) on Spreadsheet topics. Please send your problems in advance and bring a flash drive.

2) BEGINNERS SEGMENT. Fred's 10-minute Excel 101 (Beginners). Beginners are always welcomed and are given the opportunity to ask questions. We may even help Santa out with his spreadsheet.

3) WHAT'S NEW IN EXCEL 2013? (Beginners - Advanced). Fred will be using BCUG's laptop to demo Excel 2013, but Excel 2013 requires Windows 7 while the club's laptop only has XP on it. So how will Fred be able to pull off this feat? Come to Workshop to find out.

4) Follow-up to GROUPING/OUTLINE, in particular, grouping dates that span more than one year in a PivotTable; adding a TIMELINE and inserting SLICERS into a PivotTable. If you are embarrassed to admit that you don't know what a 'slicer' is in Excel or that it may be too advanced, you have plenty of company because Fred has no idea what it is either. It is supposedly a 'new' feature in Excel 2013. Come and find out. (Intermediate)

Meetings are opened to the public and guests are always invited. Membership has additional benefits.

Hope to see you on the 18th. Happy and safe holidays, and do continue to be careful on roads in and around Brookdale. Watch out for the deer!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
