D&D Encounters: Web of the Spider Queen

We are now capping Encounters at 30 players.

You must RSVP to avoid losing your seat!

Join us on Wednesday nights for D&D Encounter nights, where we'll be working our way through mini-campaigns one encounter at a time!

The time-investment is easy - just a couple hours each Wednesday night!

Brookhurst Hobbies will supply all the materials you need - just bring a handful of dice, and be ready to throw down!

Encounters Season 9 is:

Web of the Spider Queen

Long past are the days when drow ruled over Shadowdale from the Twisted Tower - or are they? Beneath the sleepy farming community, an old evil stirs. The drow and their foul Underdark minion have set eyes on the Dalelands, but to what end is anyone's guess. Now, it's up to an unlikely band of adventuers to defend Shadowdale from the drow threat and learn what lolth and her villainous followers are up to. Success means a respite from danger. Failure could doom the surface world.

For this season, players can use materials from Heroes of the Fallen Lands, Heroes of the Forgotten Kingdoms, and Into the Unknown: The Dungeon Survival Handbook to create their characters. In addition, players can use rules presented in Dragon magazine in support of those products.

The race options for this season are: dragon-born, drow, dwarf, eladrin, elf, goblin, half-elf, halfling, half-orc, human, kobold, svirfneblin, and tiefling.

Players can choose any class from Heroes of the Fallen Lands and Heroes of the Forgotten Kingdoms.

Players can choose the following themes taken from Into the Unknown: The Dungeon Survival Handbook: Bloodsworn, Deep Delver, Escaped Thrall, Treasure Hunter, Trapsmith, Underdark Envoy, or Underdark Outcast.

Also, most of the people not RSVPing won't see these messages - those who are reading these, spread the word: if you do not RSVP, you must give up your seat to someone who did if a table fills up.

People seem to be getting lax about RSVPing. That, in itself, is not necessarily a problem, but we've been getting more players on Wednesday nights than we've had RSVPs. That shouldn't be a problem either, except if someone, like Nhan, RSVPs and then is either turned away or simply feels like there isn't enough room. I depend on my DMs to make sure the games run smoothly. If a player feels like a DM isn't doing his or her job right, then the player needs to contact me so that I can intervene.

OK, awesome. I'll look for you, John, if our table was too full again.

I'm sorry that happened, Nhan - you should have found me and said something! If you RSVP, we'll absolutely make room for you!

One question: If we RSVP, but then show up and our table is already full, can we still play? Last week my friend and I came to the meet-up but the table was full and we had to leave, it was kind of sad...

Rumor has it DM John is taking over for DM Greg--this cannot be good!

Thus, I declare it HAT WEEK!

Wear your favorite hat--particularly if you have some crazy stone punk haberdashery...
