Encounters Season 10 is Council of Spiders: Lolth's avatar has come to Menzoberranzan, declaring the god's intent to spin a Demon Weave and gain control of arcane magic. The drow rush to aid her by retrieving ancient artifacts and channeling their power to Lolth. but in Menzoberranzan, the City of Intrigue, nothing is ever as simple as it seems. The Council of Spiders demands representation for wizards on the Ruling Council of the drow theocracy. Tension rises between priestesses and wizards in a drow battle of the sexes. Will the tension erupt into civil war? Which side will you choose?

Character Creation

Players can create a 1st-level character using materials drawn from Heroes of the Fallen Lands, Heroes of the Forgotten Kingdoms, Into the Unknown: The Dungeon Survival Handbook, and Menzoberranzan: City of Intrigue. Additionally, players may use rules presented in Dragon magazine in support of this D&D Encounters season, including the character themes from Dragon 413.

Players are encouraged to create drow characters who hail from Menzoberranzan for this season. Racial statistics for drow can be found in Heroes of the Forgotten Kingdoms. Players can choose to play as a slave race instead: dwarf, goblin, half-orc, human, kobold, and svirfneblin are all acceptable. Goblin, kobold, and svirfneblin appear in Into the Unknown: The Dungeon Survival Handbook, while humans and dwarves appear in Heroes of the Fallen Lands. No more than 2 players per table should choose a non-drow race.

Players playing a slave character should choose the Slayer, Thief, or Scout. Players who want to play a major political and social role in drow society should play a cleric (female only) or wizard (male only).

High-Level Option

We will be offering higher-level play to our more experienced players. Please ask a GM for more information.

Though there isn't many weeks left for this season, there is a strong chance I will be able to return to encounters. That being said, what is the minimum level my character would need to be this late in the season? I was planning to bring an old drow character into this game with a tweak here and there.

It's actually still early in the season - this one is just short.

We have three mid-level tables and one low-level table. For the low-level table, create a 1st level character. For the mid-level tables, create a 4th level character.

I guess I can make a 4th level as well depending on what table is available.
