I'm not 100% sure I can make this as I have a friend staying that weekend. I won't bring my accordion for this meeting as I don't have a way to transport it yet as I live in Manhattan and subway will be a challenge.

My concept of this "group" is to do group playing together. I have a wonderful book, a collection of mostly Europen folk tunes and songs in which we could play as an ensemble. I could also bring my clarinet or other instruments to play along This would be a fun thing to do - I've done clarinet and accordion music but never with more than one accordion...

great idea! maybe in June we could do this. do you think you can bring copies of a couple of selected music (easy enough for everyone?) to the April meeting, and give people sometime to practice?

Does the group ever play together [i.e. a folk tune "jam session"] or is it always solo performers?

    March 14, 2013

    • may

for now, it's get together, casual performances, idea exchange etc, but if you have an idea for future event, that will be great!! we plan to do picnic with accordion in the park when it gets warmer.

Confused here - this suggests two donations, a $3 and a $5 donation. Which is it?
Also, do members play as a group or are there individual performers every meet up?

    March 13, 2013

    • may

We ask performers to donate 5 dollars. Other guests 3 dollars. Are you interested in performing on april 21?
