This is a group is for all of us who have lost someone or something important in our lives -- whether through death or separation, and whether a person, a pet, a job, a house, or anything else. We will get together to talk about the loss as well as to do meditations, simple artwork, and other activities to help us process this experience. I've had several major losses in my life and know what it's like, too.
Some workshops will be run by a licensed psychotherapist, Jane Dorlester, LCSW. She is a bereavement specialist and does both group and one-on-one sessions. This meetup, if you choose, it can be the starting point to a 6-week group that will help members express, understand, and work through their grief by learning coping mechanisms and connecting with other members for support. However, each meetup is a complete experience on its own as well. We will talk about our loved ones, learn some skills, and do activities such as meditations to help us all heal together.
