19th Annual Tour de Bronx

Join nearly 6,000 cyclists as they hit the road on Sunday, October 27th for the 19th Annual Tour de Bronx, the largest free cycling event in New York State.

With a choice of either a 25 or 40-mile course through the borough’s 61 neighborhoods, there will be fun for families, casual riders and avid bicyclists.

Choose the route that's right for you:

The 25-Mile Ride:
A leisurely ride that's great for every age and skill level. Enjoy Bronx Greenway bike paths, parklands, shoreline and more. Ride marshals and NYPD escorts accompany riders. It's a one-of-a-kind experience and a great way to see the Bronx.

The 40-Mile Ride:
The pace is significantly faster on this ride which covers a greater distance in the same amount of time. This ride ventures further to visit places like City Island and SUNY Maritime College. It is recommended for experienced cyclists who are comfortable riding in traffic (THERE IS NO SAFETY CELL ON THIS RIDE. Kids under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian)

Volunteer Opportunities for the Tour de Bronx:

Marshals are volunteers on bikes who help other riders navigate the route, tricky intersections and fix flats. They also lead riders to the food and water, first aid and bike repair stations. Riding marshals must be experienced cyclists able to fix a flat tire, and be committed to riding safely and with a positive, friendly attitude. Make sure to check out the times for marshal training rides below.

Marshals may assist with either the 25-mile or the 40-mile route.

Anyone meeting up beforehand for the ride up to the Bronx? Maybe meet at Grand Army Plaza?

Not if we go through the Triborough Bridge in Astoria! I don't really care about the route, though, but timing is crucial: did you have a specific Brooklyn meetup time so as to make it to the Bronx by 9:30 am (though these things never start on time anyway)? You'll be outpacing me on a light upright so that'll definitely be a consideration....

BTW, I'll be at Prospect Park, right across from Grand Army Plaza, 8 a.m. Sunday, if you're still interested in riding to the Bronx from Brooklyn. Otherwise, see ya at the tour!
