What we’re about

Who wants to engineer new and useful life forms? Explore your own genome? Test your food to see if the label is lying about what's in it? We are the NYC Bi0h@ckers, and we do all that and more when we meet. If you are in the city and interested in DIY biology, personal genomics, or just like to geek out with friends, this is your group.

Our organizers are members of the Biotech Without Borders community lab, but we welcome and encourage folks from all community labs, makerspaces, studios, and hackerspaces around NYC to gather with us to explore the grassroots potential of biotechnology.

This was formerly the Brooklyn Biohackers Meetup organizing folks from Genspace and Biotech Without Borders when those organizations were housed in the much beloved 33 Flatbush Ave (MEX) building. Alas that era is over, but we hope this group can continue to catalyze connections within the New York DIYbio community.
