Hello Gang - something has come up at work and I am not going to make it back in time for this meetup on Friday. It seems as if a fair number of you are still interested in attending. Would someone be interested in being "organizer for a day" so that we don't have to postpone this meetup?

It seems to me that this would be a job best filled by someone who knows the lay of the land. Zenzele, up for the task? (How does one do an ear burn on this thing.)

Hey Jen! I suggested the Atlantic Chip Shop on Atlantic & Henry. Nice British pub with tables. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll make it this Friday, but I'm always up for scouting out places for upcoming meetups.
Hey Everyone! I am back from Colombia - what a trip! The caffeine from all the coffee I drank hasn't worn off yet, so I'm full of energy. We don't have a location for this meetup yet, but I will work with my honorary co-chairs (you all! :-) ) on getting one selected this week. I will keep you posted!

Welcome back, and scroll down. ;-)

I read all the comments, but it seems like you're not too sure about The Atlantic Chip Shop because it might be too crowded, no?
The bar isn't crowded during the day, but it's Court St. on a Friday, so I was basing my assumption on that. Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it this Friday, either.
Welcome back! See you had the real cafe. Not this bootleg stuff here.
I'm hesitating about coming because of the crazy weather we are expecting. Will decide on Friday one way or the other.
This will be my first meet up with the group. Excited!

Do we still need a location?

Hi, Jason. Happy New Year to All!! We'll be traveling again most of February so catch up with you after that. Retirement's a wonderful thing...except you just can't do all the things you'd like to!

Zenzele, any suggestions for a good place to meet?
Jen - I propose that you give martini-fueled cabling without a needle lessons, LOL. I have been practicing and took some photos of my swatches, I just don't know how to send them to you. :P

Scouting out some places this week! I will make sure it's directly accessible via subway; you will hear back from me no later than Friday.
Free cabling without a cable needle lessons for all at the next meetup!Jason, can't wait to see your progress.

What's this "cable needle" of which you speak?
Sounds interesting to me. Im bringing my knitting needles too.
Hey Jason, I checked out The Atlantic Chip Shop. 2/3/4/5 to Court St/Boro Hall. Nice bar, food is pretty good (pub style), but I'm concerned about this being a Friday evening, as far as crowds. Check out the website: http://www.chipshopny...
I rsvp to attend, no matter what location this time. Sure would like another opportunity for that hot chocolate and cookies/cake meetup :) :). Oh, and the wallpaper in the background looks like maybe its an image of a project u working on, is it? I'll bring whateva project Im working on then, whether crochet or knit.
I want to join you all on friday (my first time!) any leads on where you are meeting?
