One of the best Disco influenced Electronic duo's are back in town for a late night set at the claustrophobia inducing Cameo Gallery. Show starts close to midnight, Disco-Naps prior are suggested.
This might sound exaggerated, but I honestly think Metro Area was one of the most interesting things to happen to dance music during the last decade-ish (and most understated). Although Disco-tinged Electronic is in a sort of heyday right now, Metro Area were one of the few and first non-French notables to actually focus on nostalgia-driven dance in the late 90's/early 2000's.
Metro Area's aesthetics are without a doubt unique, never being easily pinned into one defining genre. Too minimal and arty for House, too Disco-y Dance-y for Lounge, too reserved for Nu-Disco and too straight-forward for Space Disco (do people still use that term?), Metro Area eludes exact definition. Also they really know how to boogie.
Extremely stoked for this show, and not to be missed given their sparse touring schedule of late.
