Cunningham Clinic Ride

So you say you want to learn to ride your mountain bike, oh wait you want to improve your skill set, learn to shift better, corner smoother, brake like a champ ok so here is your opportunity.

I've been in contact with Tom Oakes (http://trailmasterstouring.com/) and he has graciously agreed to host a clinic for bkmtb

Tom Oakes, Owner and Instructor: Tom is the owner and primary instructor for Trail
Masters Touring.  He is a pro level mountain biker with years of experience racing dual
slalom, downhill, mountain cross, and BMX.  Tom 's passion for the sport of mountain
biking and experience as a teacher motivated him to start Trail Masters so he can share
with others what he has learned over the years.  Tom is a Certified Mountain Bike
Instructor and is certified in CPR/First Aid. He is also a New York State Certified Special
Education Teacher

Intermediate Clinic

This clinic is for experienced riders who are looking to
improve their technical riding skills. The first part of
the clinic will consist of a few quick drills to review
basic skills. Then riders will learn techniques used to
lift the front wheel over obstacles and keep
momentum.  After a short break we will go on a trail
ride where riders will encounter obstacles to practice
new skills. Riders need to have adequate trail riding
experience to fully benefit from this clinic.

Call to reserve/rent a bike [masked] if need be

Cost of this opportunity will be $25.00 (i will update if i need payment prior to clinic)

Expect to spend at least 2.5 - 3hrs learning and improving your craft

We can also after learning go out and hit a loop or 2 if people stay have the energy to do so

As always bring good spirits

Thanks again to Tom and Corey, it was an excellent clinic, well paced and informative. If anyone gets a chance to ride with these guys, take it even if you're already seasoned. Also thanks to Desmond for stepping in last minute to make this happen. Good ride.

Fist of all, great work by Tom and Corey, it was a good clinic which was informative and pitched about right for the group - 5 stars for those guys. I'd be happy to ride and learn with them again.

The turnout was a little on the low side, so for those who were unable to make it, I'd recommend you take advantage of this kind on thing in future if offered.

    Hey Drew,

Thanks for writing back. I completely forgot I have a friend visiting from out of town this weekend so regrettably have to pass on this weekends ride. I'm definitely open to getting together for a different ride the weekend of the 28th however.

Hey Shea, I am planning to go, assuming we don't have a venue change. I take the F train out then it is about a 2 mile ride on fairly easy roads to get there. We can meet at an F train stop and ride out.

I'm really interested in going but would either need a ride from Manhattan or help getting to the park from the train. Is anyone commuting this way?

Ok, it's 10:45 and I have been here for 20 mins. I've asked at least 8 people of they're Eam or here for Meetup and no one has owned up to it. I guess I'll put this down as an April Fools?
