TL;WR: Kyrgyz Night NYC hosted by volunteers! Saturday April 20, 9pm–12am.
My name is Peter, and I served in the most beautiful village in Kyrgyzstan. My students and community partners are continuing the work to this day in the absence of volunteers. They organize and lead their own teacher trainings, camps, and outreach for disabled children. Not to mention former students that have distributed recycling and environmental protection materials to the community.
Unfortunately, these motivated Kyrgyz are losing the community center that they have been using for the past five years. Fear not! We can build them a new one! We have already acquired a plot of land and other basics. Now we just need your help to raise the last little bit.
On Saturday, we are hosting a Kyrgyz Night in NYC. We will serve Kyrgyz food, play Kyrgyz music, and engage in Kyrgyz frivolity (i.e. drinking lots of vodka). Please check out the facebook events page below and our indiegogo donation page! If you can’t make it to the event, any dollar you can spare would mean the world to us!
Thank you for all of your support!
Event Details: entry, $5; food, $10; vodka, $5; beer and wine, $4-$6.
