Peace Corps Uncensored: Telling the PC Tale

Imagine you're at a cocktail party. You're having a good time when you hear: "Have you met my friend? She/He did Peace Corps." Quick! What do you say? You know they are about to ask you a million questions. The pressure mounts and you have to come up with a quick story about your service. Do you know what you'd say? Do you have great Peace Corps stories at the ready? How do you tell them without going on and on and on and on.....? How disgusting is too disgusting?

Join us for an informal and casual evening of story-telling activities focused on crafting your short, sweet, and (optionally) sexy Peace Corps tale. Alongside your fellow RPCVs, learn how to deliver the arc of a story and get feedback while you eat, drink, and socialize. Who knows, maybe some of you will get inspired and want to tell a story on stage for our upcoming May 2014 Story Slam! Event is free and open to all. We're looking forward to your stories! And don't forget to put the big Story Slam on your calendar for early May!

I'm afraid I haven't been able to leave work quite yet, so I'll be 30 - 45 minutes late. I'll see if I can join anyway. Hopefully my arrival will be no big disturbance. (No need reply.) Thanks.

Hi all, I am an RPCV and also an NYU student. The PC Uncensored event is listed on the NYU Wasserman site with a different description. I was interested in attending to hone my story-telling skills but the NYU description makes it sound more like a recruitment event. Can someone verify this is the same event? Thank you.

Yes, this is more of a story telling workshop/activities type of event. Sorry for the confusion!! Hope to see you there, will be a fun time.

Address for NYU Wasserman is 133 East 13th Street, 2nd floor, New York, New York[masked]

Hello again! There are two entrances to Wasserman - both on E. 13th and E14th. Either one will do, though generally the 14th Street address is easiest for folks coming from Union Square subway stops.

Should we bring a bottle of wine to facilitate the conversation?

    • Sarah

      Absolutely!
