thanks katie. i was a bit confused by andrews concerns because the chords and the words were available. also it might help to sit closer to the rest of the group so as to make picking up tunes a bit easier. i knew a total of 2 chords but had a complete blast and can't wait for the next gathering.

I said I didn't know the *tunes* - I wanted them written out as I wanted to play the melodies too instead of only just strumming chords. I did what I could playing the chords but wish the lighting could have been better, nothing to do with sitting closer...

We had a lovely time as always. Thankfully, Freddy's had our songbooks that were left there from last month! I wanted to answer some of Andrew's concerns regarding the lead sheets and also start time. Our music for the most part is just chords and lyrics. If anyone would like to bring in more elaborate charts that would be wonderful!! The start time for the meet up is 7pm which basically means people show up around then and we really get started at 7:30 with singing, etc. And...the venue sometimes gets confused so that's why they put that The Ukuladies were performing that night so I'll try to make sure they advertise correctly next time! I hope to see you all at the fest next weekend!

It was great. It was small and cozy, we did a lot of good singing as well as playing.

friendly, welcoming group. no attitude at all - just singing and sharing music and ukin'. fantastic venue -- just hoping it won't be trashed by hipsters and babies. big fun!

OK but somewhat disappointing...
Some of us need the tunes that we play to be written out. Having just the words and chords without the music left me in the dark for most of the evening.
Also, *when* is the correct starting time? This site states the starting time as 7pm, however, the last two Meet-Ups I arrived by 7 but nothing happened before 7:30.The sign outside Freddy's said 7:30 to start both times and also that the Ukuladies were to perform at 9:30 but they did not appear.
Will there be a play and sing along after the performers finish? I am not performing so wondered whether or not to bing the uke. Thanks
