BCS is looking for volunteers to work in our community garden this Saturday, from 10:00am-1:00pm. The garden is adjacent to our Transitional Living Community, a homeless shelter for women with mental illness, at 116 Williams Avenue in East New York, Brooklyn. We will meet at the garden, located at the intersection of Hinsdale St. and Glenmore Ave.
Activities: Weeding, planting, cutting down bamboo, and general garden clean-up. Please RSVP to Cecile at [masked].
Some things to keep in mind: • Gloves provided are previously used and laundered. Volunteers may choose to bring their own gloves. • Bathroom facilities are available in the shelter only to persons 18 and older. There are no bathroom facilities available for minors. • Drinking water is not available in the garden. Volunteers should bring their own hydrating beverages.
