Hope everyone has downloaded all rafting videos now. If not, let me know within the next 2 days. If I hear nothing I will delete the dropbox folder on sunday and there will be no chance to get the videos from me afterwards. So it's your last chance ;-)

    Hey guys,

It's a little late in coming but I wanted to thank all of you for making this such an incredible weekend away. I had a great time.

Yes I put it together... but without each and every one of you being there to contribute it wouldn't have been the success it was. It boggles my mind to think that a group of mostly complete strangers can come together and just enjoy each others company have a blast the way we did.

    Thanks for making it special.

Costa - UGHHH -that's not saying much - lets stick to tried and true - It is not that much more to go on Royal Caribbean and first time cruisers will enjoy it better and no endless announcements in 15 languages -but since this an adventure group we should be doing something different than cruising -that is what all the other groups are doing - can't see the majority of this wanting to be on a cruise -more adventure would be better - like the barefoot cruises -or renting our own sailboat with someone to captain it.

Please go ahead and plan it for us.....I'm game for a few winter getaways!!!

      July 25

Hi Guys, I was talking to Dutch about a January cruise and thought I'd mention some details. It's on the MSC Divina (built 2012) leaving from Miami on the 24th of January/15 for 7 nights and cruising the Eastern Carbbean. Price from $379.00 inside, Ocean view- from $469.00 and Balcony- from $649. (U.S. Dollars). These prices also include the taxes. It's the least expensive cruise out there. (air is separate). Prices are held for a short time as cabins are limited. In the meantime, let me know if anyone is interested so that we can expedite the meetup and go as a group.

    1 · July 25

    • Dianne

I've done them all...mostly Royal Caribbean. I've been on the Divina. MSC has come a long way. The Divina is a pretty new ship (2012) and the cabins are nicer than RCCL. This is an Italian ship and it's compared to Costa, although a step up according to most. The ship itself is stunning. MSC is now making a name for itself in North America. Having said that, there's lots of options for January and January is typically the least expensive time to cruise. Celebrity, RCCL and Norwegian would be my choices but all more expensive with the same itineraries. If there is interest and depending on what individuals want to spend will determine the ship and cruise.......I figure if you can eat the food in Cuba, this is an upgrade :)

      July 25

    • Dianne

BTW Sandy.....if you have a preference and prefer a particular cruise ship and itinerary, I'm happy to go along with that too. I'm very flexible. When you travel with a fun group you have a great time no matter what ship you're on!! :)

    Hello Everyone,
my Dropbox is disabled for 3 days because of to many data traffic. I hope afterwards it will work again. But I want to make sure that it will not happen again. Therefore I want to know who was in my rafting boats and still needs the videos. Then I will tell everyone one which day they can download the videos. When I told you a day please download the videos only on this day otherwise the dropbox will be disabled again and no-one else will get the videos. At first I will upload only the videos for the first Rafting Day and later on for the second Rafting Day. So please comment when you need the videos and I will make a list who can download the videos on which day.
    Thanks,
    Vanessa

Just having a little study of Google Maps... What is the consensus of which route to choose!? Through Peterborough, Belleville or Perth? The times are close enough, that it think they all would work. They are all around 5 hours, it says. I am leaning towards one that stays on the 401 longer (ie:Belleville route) - to avoid being stuck behind a line slow cottage drivers on a small road. Any thoughts?

    July 3

    • Dianne

Hi Maria, I did the 35/115 route through Peterborough and onto hwy #41.....seemed fast and easy. Did you go closer to Kingston to hit the Smiths Falls area? The traffic near the Oshawa area was slow through to Brock Street in Whitby and after that the traffic gods were good to us!! Hope to see you soon :)

      July 7

    • Maria H

Seems 115/35 is most direct! But more time on the 401 allowed me to zoom nice and super fast - I'm an impatient driver! ;) Glad everyone is home, safe and sound! Xo

    WT FAQ, what to bring:
1-day rafting trips, we provide everything you need for the river. But, bring:
    • Extra shoes to wear on the raft, low cut runners, sandals or water shoes that stay firmly on the foot.
    • Bathing suit or quick dry shorts
    • Beach Towel
    • Rash Top (or quick dry material)
    • flashlight
    • wind up alarm
    • warm clothing for evenings
While rafting, lock valuables in car trunk; trip leader will look after keys; there are coin lockers as well.

Lol, reminds me of a trip to Wakefield Quebec to my parents ski chalet one summer when I was still in school We were too broke to rent a cottage so we figured it would suffice. The closest liquor store was a trailer and was so cramped you could only walk in circles in one direction

      July 2

    • Shireen

I'm so excited!!! I just picked up $350 worth of fireworks for the trip. I LOVE blowing up sh...tuff!

All but 2 said they wanted to chip in $10-$20 for fireworks but only $260 was collected at the pre party and via payment when rsvp'ing. I don't know who's given and who hasn't so I'd ask that you approach me and give it there. I really don't want to be out of pocket.

I was looking for a spot for us to meet for dinner on the drive up but found that the resort has a $15 steak and/or veggie dinner on Fridays nights from 6-9pm. (only 3 on Saturday and 2 on Sunday are included) I can't find details as to what's included on their site so I'll call them tomorrow and add a separate meetup to get numbers as I need to book and pay in advance to get this price. Lets meet for 7pm... I'll add where to meet as well.

If you're arriving later or will not be joining us for dinner please text or call when you're close to the resort and I'll meet you somewhere. [masked]
