We visiting Ohio's state forests, state parks, and other public lands to celebrate their beauty and biodiversity.  We are a laid-back hiking group.  We like to have fun and enjoy the scenery.  We also like to inform hikers of some of the legal and on-the-ground issues facing Ohio's public lands.  Hikes are often scheduled for particular parks or forests that may be confronted with future industrial development or other degradations.

Buckeye Hike is sponsored by the Buckeye Forest Council, a state-wide forest advocacy and protection not-for-profit (501(c)(3)).  The Buckeye Forest Council (BFC) is a membership-based, grassroots organization dedicated to protecting Ohio’s native forests and their inhabitants. The BFC uses education, advocacy and organizing to address the need for forest preservation and low-impact recreation over logging and resource extraction. We seek to instill in Ohioans a sense of personal connection to and responsibility for Ohio's native forests and to challenge the exploitation of land, wildlife and people.
