Introductions & Welcome

AWeber is hosting our first DevOps meetup at our headquarters in Chalfont, PA.

This is going to be a technical meetup, with a strong focus on using technology to build and manage complex infrastructures.

The theme this month will be Deployment, with four lightning talks at 15-minutes each with a brief period for discussion between each talk:

  • Brian Jones has worked in the domain of DevOps for several years and will be speaking about what DevOps actually is.
  • Michael Smalley is in charge of everything Apple at AWeber, and has done a lot of work automating the deployment of OS X workstations using tools like DeployStudio, Munki, and a lot of nifty tricks.
  • Benjamin Krein has been automating infrastructure since the mid-2000s. He will explain how AWeber uses Vagrant and Chef to accelerate deployment, and will highlight some of the shiny features of Vagrant 1.1.x.
  • Jason Schadel is the Quality Assurance and Jenkins guru at AWeber. He has built the framework that tests and deploys our infrastructure code. He will explain how Jenkins can remove the pain of deployment in staging and production, while always running the most stable code available.

Join us on Wednesday, April 17th at 6PM at our Chalfont office:
