The first Erlang Budapest meetup will be held on 26th September!
Richárd Jónás will talk about his experiences with the Cowboy web framework, and afterwards we will have a hands-on session about Cowboy.
Cowboy is a small and fast HTTP server written in Erlang. Richárd and I use it in the project that we are currently working on. (The project is Wombat OAM, a tool for deploying and managing Erlang nodes.) You can find more information about Cowboy on its website: http://ninenines.eu/
Richárd started his professional career in 2000 by developing web applications in Java. Then he got to know Erlang by extending and optimizing ejabberd, since ejabberd was the communication base for the different applications that his company developed. After that he moved back to the Java world again and developed enterprise applications, e.g. clusters with big memory. Now he is back to the Erlang world, working in the Budapest office of Erlang Solutions Hungary.
- We will have drinks (including beer) and pizza.
- We recommend that you bring a laptop for the hands-on session.
