Let's start again here . . .

Siddhartha is a novel by Hermann Hesse. Set in India, it is the story of a young man's search for meaning, which takes him through both a life of excess and of asceticism. The story contains parallels to Buddha's life and teaches that wisdom cannot be taught, but must come from one's own inner struggle.
