Central Connecticut’s only Buddhist Sunday School
Wesleyan University Campus, Middletown, Connecticut
Sundays 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon
During the Buddhist Faith Fellowship’s weekly gathering
We believe that children should never feel forced to participate in religious education. To that end, we have adopted a Montessori inspired format with multiple classes for children aged 15 mos.-15 yrs. which nurtures your child's innate curiosity with respect for individual and developmental needs.
About Family Dharma
Our school is truly a rare treasure as it is designed to meet the needs of children by integrating Buddhist and Montessori educational approaches. This continues to be the only family oriented Buddhist Sunday School in Central Connecticut. Lessons and activities are age appropriate and student focused. Everyone in attendance will be deeply enriched with the traditional Buddhist themes; additionally, our students will have the opportunity to learn a variety of subjects, including world geography. While not a Buddhist topic, it builds a good foundation for understanding our world and, unfortunately, is a neglected subject in most American public schools.

Your confirmation email will include directions to our campus location and any updated information.
At your first visit, you are welcome to stay and observe or to join the adult community at the Mansfield Freeman Center for Asian Studies (which means you can't just drop off and go for coffee or shopping). Your own spiritual development is an integral of your child’s education.
You are welcome to visit at a drop-in rate of $15 per family (Please RSVP at least 24 hrs. in advance to ensure enough staff coverage and bring cash or check payable to BFF of CT). If you find your family attending on a regular basis, we encourage you to become a member to help support the quality of education that your family deserves.
We have considerable expenses to cover in providing this valuable service to the community: room rental, hiring & maintaining quality educators, and providing enough supplies and snacks for every child. Families are encouraged to make an annual membership donation at the level that best suits their individual financial situation. Membership levels fall under several main options:
$600 – less than $12/wk
$850 – less than $17/wk
$1,000 - less than $20/wk
Other Donation (You choose the amount)
Scholarships are available for those in need of financial assistance
Membership donations are needed to help to defray operational costs; however, any family is welcome to participate in the community, regardless of what can be donated. There is an additional "other" button option for paying online to accommodate amounts that either do not meet the above levels or exceed them. Presently, our Sunday School’s operating expenses exceed income, so any additional donation is very welcome! The BFF is incorporated in the State of Connecticut and registered as a 501(c)(3) so all donations are tax deductible. Please visit us at www.family.bffct.net to become a member and help support this unique program.
