Hike the Bear Caves-Mt. Seneca Trail in Allegany State Park

The Bear Caves - Mt. Seneca trail is a moderately difficult 4 mile hike in Allegany State Park.  The trailhead is located just east of the Junction between Allegany Route 1 and Route 3.  A park map can be seen here:

This is roughly a 1.75 hour drive, so carpooling is a good idea. It would also probably be smart for us to caravan down there together, so we don't end up waiting to all find each other.

Also, this is November in the woods, so pack accordingly.  Several layers of clothes that wick away moisture, hiking boots, a pack to carry water and a snack.

I've been watching the weather, and Allegany is under a high wind watch with rain on and off all day. I hate to do it but this hike is cancelled.

So here's another thought, it looks like my Saturday will be pretty busy. Can you guys do Sunday instead?

Hi Kyle, thanks for the offer, but if I do go, I'm leaving early so I'll be taking my own car. Hopefully I see you guys tomorrow!

It looks like it's just the four of us. Do you guys want to all carpool? I'd be willing to drive.

I might be going into work on Saturday, but as long as I get enough work done tomorrow that may not happen. I will update by tomorrow night

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
