Here are the details for the party. I know there has been some confusion, so here we go: Everyone will get whatever they want to eat and/or drink, and bring it to the upstairs dining area. Once we have had a chance to eat and talk, and I'm sure laugh, we'll start the gift exchange. Please bring a wrapped gift. It can be anything you want. Don't go overboard!! It can be something bead related, or something you made, or something you regift, or whatever!! Heddie suggested a limit of $20. Don't let that intimidate you! This is for fun.
We'll put all the gifts in the center of the table, and everyone will receive some playing cards. When one of your cards is called, choose a gift and open it. This continues until all gifts are opened. Then when your card is called, you steal one from someone else. We continue until all the cards are called. You could end up with a few, one or no gift at all!! If you want to add a bit to the fun, you can bring an additional gift.

If you have any questions, please post them on Meetup, our Facebook group, or email me. Looking forward to some fun Thursday night!!
Not sure about the names, ask Connie!
FYI....if you are Kindle users....or tablet like me...bookbub.com has free and low cost books.Today it is offering...for free... a book called CITY OF BEADS ! A mystery by Tony Dunbar.
See you there with a slightly wrapped gift! no name, but I'll own up to it if necessary! I did go with Heddie's suggestion...bead related! ;-)
Ok. I am going back to my original post, after correction by Connie. WRAPPED GIFTS. WRAPPED GIFTS. WRAPPED GIFTS.

Thanks, should we have a tag with our name on the wrapped gift?

If you want, Sharon, although it's not necessary.
Julie, bring whatever you like. Serious gift, gag gift, bead related, not bead related, whatever. As we did last year, we will draw cards and you will choose an unwrapped gift, open it so everyone can oooooh and aaaaaah, until all the gifts are opened. Then as we continue to call out cards, when yours is called, you can steal whatever you like. That's when the fun begins!!! LOL

What should the gift be? At on point I heard 'White Elephant' type things, then here, 'bead related'
I would say $15 to $20 MAX. Some of us will not match even this, we will rely on creativity. AND I was wrong, gift should be UNWRAPPED, as we will be switching around gifts. Better to be bead related! Purely social evening.

This sounds good. This is the location where I play Euchre. Are there guidelines for the gift exchange? Jewelry related, holiday- ish? $5, $10 value? I like guidelines, gals!
We will place our gear upstairs in the eat-in area, then grab our own pick of meals from Wegman's extensive food bar downstairs. We'll eat and do our gift exchange. Bring a wrapped gift, not too expensive, and then we will be doing nifty trade-off to see who ends up with which item!
