The Buffalo Figure Photography Meetup Group Pages

The purpose of The Buffalo Figure Photography Group is to provide open group sessions of nude and semi-nude fine-art, pin-up, and glamor photography.

We are the largest and most frequent of such group shoots for hundreds of miles around.

We pay the highest rates to our models and they are always top of the line, from several modeling sources.

Our shoots allow photographers to gain experience working with nude models in a studio environment. ~ To become familiar with lighting, angles, composition, test lenses, etc. ~ Along with gaining photographs for their personal portfolios. ~ More on photo usage below.

Photographers exchange information, technical advice and assistance, learn new techniques, try out equipment, and so on. Photographers are also able to meet and test shoot models they did not already know.

They may arrange for their own shoots with the models by letting them know this, and supplying their contact information to them. MM #, biz card, etc... So the model can contact the photographer after the shoot to discuss the details..., if she wishes. The model may also supply the photographer their MM #, biz card, or other *non-personal* contact information if they have any to give.

All the above for a minimal $20.00 per shoot.

These are not your normal photo-shoots where you may be given signed releases by the model, or expect to do things the way you normally do them.

For the price of it alone, it is not that. ~ We do not want to give away the model's store.

Regarding their safety..., the models are NOT to give out their last name, address or other personal contact information. Please do not ask them for any such information. ~ This is a group shoot and participants are not necessarily known to them or even us...

Neither do you need such information. Please do not embarrass them by making them refuse. They may give you a Model Mayhem number or similar 'anonymous' method of contact info, if they have any such to give. Otherwise you are to give the models your contact information so they can contact you if they wish to do so... One criteria I tell them to look for is the quality of the photos you will upload to them on Smugmug... They need to be full size and nicely edited for their personal use. A minmum of three per model but more is better...

The model agrees to pose nude for The Buffalo Figure Photography Meetup Group's photo-shoot on that date, for remuneration received. I pay for her TIME...

The model gives photographers the right of personal use to photographers in their personal portfolio(s)., *PROVIDING* they agree to turn over that required compensation to her within a reasonable time... Not to exceed TWO WEEKS from the date of the shoot... That compensation being a minimum of three photographs as described below.

The $20.00 attendance fee is NOT to be considered as compensation to the model. Photographers need to turn over photos as their compensation to the modelj.

Personal portfolios include personal web sites, industry portfolio sites such as Model Mayhem, and others where the basic purpose is to show potential customers and/or agents your photographic ability, range, and quality of work you do. There is to be NO posting of photos taken of any model on any public media.., such as FB, etc... NO posting what-so-ever... If it is done photographer will be deleted and blocked from the group.

Note: Just to reiterate and be totally clear...

There is no permission given for any photograph to be sold., nor rights shared or transferred to any third person or organization for any reason whatsoever. ~ Other than the photographs that the photographer turns over to the model..

Ownership of photographs taken remains with the photographer but the model is be granted usage rights equal to the photographer's, upon receiving said photographs.

The models agree to pose for each photographer in exchange for the photographs as stated below.

Supplying the model with at least three best of shoot, hi-res and edited images is required. ~ All such photographs should contain the photographer's identifying watermark or other ID for copyright protection purposes. And for credit to the photographer when the photo is used in the models portfolio.

Photographs intended for the model will be uploaded to a secure online directory. A link for that purpose will be supplied to each photographer attending each shoot. The models will then be able to download them for their own personal use.

Photographers have no need to pass a CD to the model. You will not have her address anyway. Do NOT ask for it or you will be deleted from the group... There is ZERO tolerance on this...

It will also be greatly appreciated if the photographer does not use any particular photograph that the model objects to in any way. This with the expectation that such requests are limited to an occasional photo the model may come to find fault with. ~ Ie, their own personal view of themselves in that photo.., a bad hair day, bad angle, etc. You may fix it to their satisfaction. But the need for removal is in fact NYS law when the model requests it in writing. NYS Civil Law Artical 5 Section 50-1-2...

Proper conduct and a professional attitudes are expected at all times by all involved.

Discussions of future one-on-one shoots can be initiated between the model and photographer at our group shoots. The photographers need only to supply the model with their contact information and let the model take it from there. When she replies to your contact information...

In general we expect all to see the benefit of these group shoots. ~ That everyone gains in many ways. ~ To the extent they do not even need to actually photograph the model. ~ They can simply come to the session and relate the cost to a 'finders fee'. That they can then set up their own shoot with the model.

Everyone must abide by the above requests, guidelines, and requirements. ~ If anyone ignores them, they will most likely be eliminated from all future shoots.

Many thanks to all who have supported our efforts. ~ Support will cause the group to grow, improve, and be a worthwhile benefit to the photographers who attend.

There are additional details in the >MORE>FILES section of this site. We request that everyone read them for their own and everyone else's benefit. Including mine. :-)

They are here...:

Please join us at our next shoot.

Many thanks...

The Organizer.
