Hike the Finger Lakes trail between Holimont and Stone Chimney Rd

This will be a difficult hike. 8.4 Miles with a total climb of approximately 1200 feet. Of course what we go up we will go down.
We will meet at the end of Stone Chimney Rd. We will leave half the cars at that location and drive up to Rt 242 by Holimont tp start our hike.
This is a difficult hike. Be sure you can do this hike before you sign up.
We will pass a number of retention ponds at the top of Holimont. The site of the old Seneca CCC camp. We will walk through the middle of tornado blow down area (very impressive). We will go by Little Rock City (an impressive set of boulders) Dependent on energy levels we can talk a walk through the rocks. This will add another .5 miles (approx.) We will then proceed down to our cars passing over an old stone bridge.

Fantastic pictures Karen - bittersweet because I enjoyed viewing them but they made me wish I had gone on that hike. Hopefully Dave will lead some more hikes for us. I moved the best picture to the front of the album and made it the hike's thumbnail picture.

Thanks, Gary! You're sweet! We all missed you yesterday. Hope to be hiking with you again sometime soon! Scott took pictures, as well. Not sure if he plans on posting them. It sure was a beautiful hike! Deb took the 2 pictures of me. I had to have proof that I was actually there!

This was a difficult hike because of the elevation climb! Aside from that, it was a beautiful area and a fantastic day. Tons of berry bushes!! I loved the giant rocks, as well. It was nice hiking with old and new members. Thanks, Dave, for organizing this hike!

I'm in! It sounds challenging...hopefully we won't be running up 1200 feet. :) I would love to carpool, if anyone is willing.

Karen I can pick you up at the OP park & ride. Can you be there at 7:00?

Rebecca and Dave, since I live in Holland, it wouldn't make any sense for me to go to O.P. Maybe we could all meet at the Walmart in Springville?

Dave, I would LOVE to do this hike but I have a graduation party in Ohio. Believe me, I'd much rather be hiking! Thanks for picking up the ball and organizing this hike. Have fun!
