Mt. Onondaga and Mt. Seneca bushwhack from Bear Cave Trail

This hike will also take us to Mt. Onondaga and then Mt. Seneca, using the Mt. Seneca-Bear Cave park trail for a portion of the hike and bushwhacking for the other portion.

We will start at the parking area for the trail to the Bear Caves/Mt. Seneca. We follow the Ber Caves trail for only a quarter mile, then we turn north to head up a ridge toward Mt. Onondaga. The first 1/2 mile of this hike involves an elevation gain of 510 feet, then levels off until we go down (then up) the col between Mt. Onondaga and Mt. Seneca. After reaching the summit of Mt. Seneca it is all down hill except for a 110 foot dip into and back up Slide Hollow on the way out on the Bear Cave/Mt. Seneca trail.

Total distance is only 4 miles, but another half mile to a mile has to be reserved for zig-zagging around obstructions on the bushwhack portion.

A waiver of liability will be required.  You can download it, sign it, then return it to me by email. Here is the link to the release form: Release of Liability
