Michio Kaku

Nice find by Lauren! Apparently author and physicist Michio Kaku is coming UB North. Lauren if you have more details please share and I will post.

From Lauren:

"I am going to see Michio Kaku speak September 25 at 8pm at UB. He's a theoretical physicist and scifi nerd. He frequently appears on shows on the science channel. I don't know if there are any seats left in my section (202) but there may still be tickets available. We could go and meet after for a drink and discussion?"

There is a sign on Coventry Loop with blue posts that says Alumni Arena. It is near 3 flagpoles. I will wait there after the event for 20 minutes or so, if anyone would like to meet me and go somewhere to discuss the event. I will be wearing a black leather hooded jacket and a red scarf.

how about MacGregor's Grill and Tap Room for discussion after the lecture? Its just off campus at 4350 Maple Road. I actually live downtown, so if anyone would prefer to meet in the Elmwood Village I would be happy to do that instead. Blue Monk and Acropolis are nearby and usually good for a drink and a chat.

Here is the link for tickets:

There are some left, but it looks like they're going fast. Anyone have an idea for where we should meet afterwards to chat?

There is lot happening this fall, From NPR there is David Sedaris and Ira Glass both coming to UB next month I believe.

Also the Buffalo Museum of Science (where I work) is hosting a science cafe Wed Sept. 18th on tattoos and there will be reduced admission to Body Worlds. I can not make it that night but I would love to meet all of you some time. I am planning a second one in Nov based off David Pogue and Nova is doing a Making It 2 program on PBS and I have been selected to hold an event here.

Also the Science & Art Cabaret at Hallwalls starts up again Wed Oct 23 with the topic Hysteresis, again on Nov 20 with the topic Scale. We are still working out the details of the events. If anyone is interested in helping out or know any good speakers drop me a line at the museum [masked]
