  • This is our monthly Designer & Developer WordPress Meetup.

Discussion in Theme Design, Plugin Development, advanced Security, and other more advanced elements to WP.

This meetup is catered towards designers and developers. Whether you're a designer new to WordPress, or an experienced Developer this is the meetup you'll want to attend. A basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and PHP to get the most out of the Designer/Dev Meetups. Feel free to give it a try if you're on the fence and you can also attend the User meetup to see where you feel more comfortable.

Also newly added, is our rule during the Designer/Developer Meetups, of NO SEO discussion. We're adding this simply because while SEO can go hand-in-hand with WordPress, it often overruns everything else discussed. We are a WP Meetup, not an SEO Meetup.

If you're looking for something directed towards content editing, blogging, and less development based elements to WordPress, try our User Meetup running every fortnight to this one.

We are going to cancel tonight's meetup. Canisius is closed because of the weather. Half the metro area is still under a travel ban as well.

I was going to say the same thing. The school is closed.

Thanks. I thought I had to compress first. A long time ago I used Sorenson compression software before uploading and the quality on YouTube was outstanding. Don't have that edit suite anymore.
    Thanks, Ben.

Hmm, I guess if the videos files are very large, it would a long time to upload to yt. But if that's not an issue, you might as well start with the highest quality you can.

Get the videos at full size (no compression, 1080p resolution) for your archive, and let youtube handle the compression when you upload the files.

Hi - I attend the meet ups for the blog group, but I have a question.
I'm doing video blogs for my website and will host on YouTube. Does anyone know what size the videos should be compressed to? The editor is using Final Cut Pro and usually does documentaries so he doesn't know what size I want. Thanks

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
