Like every large city there is a 'war zone'. When visiting the famous Chippewa Street night life location years ago for the first and last time, I wasn’t sure which direction to proceed on a street to get on to the New York State Depressed way. So while walking on Chippewa I asked a policeman on a corner which direction to proceed. (There were more police than party goers) His reply; ‘if you go this way you will get to where you want to go however, if you go the other way, you will never come back’
Now figure it out, more police than patrons, told where the ‘war zone’ is and knowing it is in Buffalo, I am not going to find out the hard way where the ‘zone’ boundary lines are.
I find out where the ‘war zones’ are in every major city I visit including the Los Angeles area and avoid them.
