Hello Emily,
I still have tinkerbelle, I could not take her to the SPCA. I was just too afraid of not knowing where she was going. I am still looking for a home for her. I can be reached at 341-1279...Kathy

Subject: [dachshund-482] Late Summer Update

Hello Buffalo Dachshund Club members,
I hope that your summer has been going well. I can't believe it is almost over, and for many, back to school! I wanted to provide you with a short update on what's going on these next few weeks.
Hope to see you Monday at the Clarence Center Labor Day parade... if you have never been, get ready to sit and wait a while, as line up can take a long time. Bring a folding chair or a blanket, as last year we waited about an hour before we began moving. Traffic can be backed up quite a bit on Goodrich Road, so the earlier you can arrive, the better. Also, this event is weather permitting, so if it is POURING, consider it cancelled.
September 17th- SHHHH- this event idea is a surprise for my soon to be husband!! Buffalo Dachshund Club organizer (me!) Emily is getting married! After the ceremony, I thought it would be a fun surprise for everyone in attendance, and a great photo op for our memories, to have club members and their pups cheering us on as we exit the church after our wedding ceremony.
Although dogs won't be allowed inside during the private ceremony, I thought it would be fun to have some of our available members outside with their doxies dressed up and with congratulations signs for our wedding photos, and would it if you could make it, that would be great.
Our ceremony should only go on for about 30 minutes, so at 4:20/ 4:30PM, if the weather is nice, please consider joining up outside of the church to wish us well. Parking is available on the street, all around the museum on Porter Avenue and the side streets of the west side. It will be a super quick little meet up photo op, but I would love to have you and your doxies in our wedding photos!
September 24th- member Bill has organized a team for the American Heart Association heart walk, please consider walking and supporting this great cause!
Post wedding I will be out of the country for a bit, and would love it if someone could please take control of our October "Dachtoberfest" event. Every year we hold a Halloween themed event, raising money for Dachshund Rescue of North America. As I have been a bit busy this summer, I'd love it if a club member could step up to the plate to organize this event. Please contact me directly if you are interested in helping out and I can guide you through the process.
Anyone new to the club- welcome, can't wait to meet you soon. If you have not already, please send your $6.00 club dues to my attention (checks are payable to Emily Burns) at 866 Parkside Avenue, Buffalo, NY 14216, or payable to [address removed] via PayPal. Your dues help cover the cost of this website, and also snacks and extras at our club events. Thank you for your continued support.
Hope to see you at an upcoming event and happy end of summer!
