Open Games for New Players

Hello everyone,

We've had a lot of new people join, but Saturday nights are still thin on opportunities for new players. So, I am going to move my AD&D campaign off of some Saturday nights on a trial basis to give me a chance to run more delves for people who are looking to play. I will mostly be running games using 1st ed. AD&D and the Cortex/Serenity RPG. For Cortex, I will be running games in the Firefly/Serenity, Hellboy and Cowboy Bebop settings and maybe some steampunk Space:1889. I may also run Star Wars d6 and Cyberpunk 2020. AD&D games will include some Oriental Adventures sessions.

I'm going to start with a Cowboy Bebop game on July 28th at 6pm. All of my games are open to bare beginners or experienced veterans, I will have pregen characters for each game. If you are familiar with the system and want to make up a character ahead of time, feel free to contact me. I usually arrive a little early to set up, so you can come and talk before the game begins if you want.

I'm going to throw my hat into the ring as well for anybody who wants to be in an open game. BTW - Jim is an amazing GM and you should try his games! :)

I will be running a demo adventure of the White Wolf game Orpheus on July 28th at 5:30. Characters will be 'projectors' dealing with ghostly figures seen at a local casino. Pre-gens are always available for people to pick up. Bring lots of d10s if you want to play!

The second Saturday in August I will be running the first in a series of adventures set in the Star Trek universe. As long as you have seen the television show and know the difference between a Vulcan and a Human, you are good to go. Characters will be pre-gened as well and this will hopefully be set to go as a once a month game.

The fourth weekend in August I will be running a Pathfinder game called "The Dark Queen and Her Minions". This game follows a group of mercenaries who are in a land that will have a lot to deal with the Grimm Fairy Tales. This has already been run one evening but I am always looking for players for my games.

I will post here as my schedule permits so that everybody keeps appraised of what games I'm going to be running when.

Chris Sniezak has been talking about doing this as well. I've made a few more appearances lately as well. I am glad to see renewed interest in hosting open games on Saturday.

I hope to get out to the game night one of these Saturdays as well. (I'm still shuttling back and forth to Syracuse most weekends). Just to meet some of the members and try a few games.

I'd also like to get players for a Sunday Pathfinder Game as well. (Saturdays are tough for me most weekends).
