So plenty of you have heard about the god game that i was working on; each player starts a religion, draws cards that they either accept or reject as fundimentals. The game can have a GM that plays the growth of athiesm, each group grows and evolves untill there is only one standing.

Thoughts and ideas on this?

Is it an RPG or a card game or a board game? I assume RPG since it's got a GM but this sounds like a neat concept for a card styled board game.

Theme it with religious dominance and make it so you have to gain followers to reach enlightenment to gain more followers while using those same followers to wage holy wars against other religions to beat them into pulp. It could be an area control game too where your religion is trying to control the most area on a hex based board that could be randomized like catan or built out like Runewars.

I'm just throwing idea's out there. Maybe your religion has to have certain fundamentals to gain certain groups of followers but might change those ideals down the road to convert more. There could be some fun things in there such as religious language to keep the masses in the dark. Such as Latin was used in Europe. Pagan absorption which absorbs a fundamental to your religion to gain more followers.

I'm thinking you could use a preloaded card mechanic for your action to give the game a sense of trying to read your opponents actions. I'm not sure about turn order though.

Maybe certain fundamentals allow for quicker action while others allow for more potent converting while others are better for going to war. Furthermore certain ideals just don't mesh and cause for negatives if you have them together in your religion.

You could also have prophets or preachers who can travel the hex based world to help you convert or generals to help you in your religious wars.

I'm just throwing out idea's. I've never really done any board or card game design before.

I know this would be a really sick board/card game, trading in and out fundimentals would be awesome. I really don't have the resources to create a bunch of preprinted cards on my own, so starting out i'd like to test the idea.

So lets do it. We start out with two or three or four tribes. I'd like to use a hex grid, we put tribes x distance from eachother and expand out. Roll a die to determine if we find another tribe, try to convert, kill, enslave or sacrifice. Do some sort of resource mechanic, because a lot of this seems like resource management.

Hmm. Sitting down and playing this out would be really beneficial if anyone feels up to it.
