Learn your Sass off!

The Talk:

Do you cry yourself to sleep at night in fear of having to write and maintain your own css?  Does your longing for better design skills make you have panic attacks throughout the day?  Do you live in Buffalo?

If you answered yes to > -1 of these questions, you should stop by Buffalojs on Monday April 15th!

Dennis Gaebel, organizer of BfloFRED, will be stopping by to enlighten us with Sass, a fun way to write better css (http://sass-lang.com/).  This will be a hands on session so bring your laptops and be prepared to learn!

Sass what?

Sass is a meta-language of CSS; think of it like what Coffeescript is to Javascript.  Sass brings some great features to css like variables while compiling down to the good parts of CSS.

About the Speaker:

Dennis Gaebel (@gryghostvisuals) is a top designer in Buffalo who organizes BfloFRED.  He's also taking over the world with fredup (http://fredup.github.io/), expanding FRED across the globe (inspired by OpenHack).  When he's not taking over the world, he's maintaining one of his millions of awesome open-source projects.  And let's not forget that the dude radiates design to nth degree.  No, like seriously, if  you don't believe me go ahead and check out some of his awesome projects:

Got a really nice overview of SASS from someone whose bread and butter is using it. LOVE presentations like this. Well done!

The map suggests the meeting is at SPoT Coffee, is that right?

It is at CoWork Buffalo, which is above SPot Coffee, the door is on the delaware side of SPot, go in and up the stairs then to the left (I think). http://coworkbuffalo....

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
