I enjoyed the book, and enjoyed being at Antoneta's. It still was a little hard to hear from one end of the table to the other, but it was not as noisy as some restaurants we have tried.

It was an engaging mystery; would make a interesting tv series.

    February 19, 2014

  • Leticia

I enjoyed the mystery, character unfolding, and all of the twist and turns.

Sadly, I have not finished the book. :O(

Me neither! It didn't arrive until late Saturday! Loving it so far though and interested to hear everyone's thoughts later on!

Wish I could join y'all, but my mom has to go out of town, and she was my babysitter. I'm planning on coming in March, though.

I had totally forgotten. So glad you reminded me. Can you make it at 6?

      Tomorrow
Would actually work better. I will see tomorrow at QT at 6

I called Antoneta's to make a reservation but I was told they do not take reservations. We can come in and wait for a table, if necessary. :-(. Does everyone want to do this? She said they should not be too busy on a Tuesday evening. I talked to Kelsey. I vote to still go there, but wanted to let you all know.

    1 · February 10, 2014

    • Susan M.

The manager at every restaurant we've been to told me they were not very busy on Tuesday nights. But look at what happened in January. I wonder what they consider "busy"?

      February 11, 2014

    • Susan R.

Yes, I would think even tho they do not take reservations, they would welcome a big group on a "not busy" night... and prepare a spot for us.

      February 11, 2014

  • Leticia

I'm not interested in eatting. When will be a good time to come for everything else?

    1 · February 6, 2014

    • Susan R.

Leticia, we ask if you want to eat arrive at 6:30 to get your order in and we start the discussion at 7. So come by 7.

      Ok thanks!

I'm looking forward to dinner & a great meeting at Antoneta's!

I would like to suggest a location for Feb. 18, Antoneta's Italian Restaurant at the Kroger Shopping Center at the corner of 124 and 324 (Braselton Hwy & Gravel Springs Rd.) Google them and you can see their entire menu. I don't know if we can find a restaurant that is pleasantly quiet unless we have a totally private room such as I-HOP provided... I thought Provino's was pretty noisy even in our semi-private room. It was hard to hear those speaking from the opposite end of the tables. Don't know if Antoneta's would be any better but at least it's a change of pace.

Yeah I couldn't remember it was listed under Bippas still or Antonetta's. Thank you Kris!

      Biba's

I am still willing to offer my house for this month's meeting... it's quiet, big enough, and I can serve coffee & tea and bake a little something for us. But I only want to host in winter...

    February 4, 2014

    • Susan R.

Leticia, I am in Lawrenceville right next to Dacula. I hosted our December meeting/party so most of the members have been here. But I am afraid I'm too far for many. You all are welcome, though!

      February 5, 2014

    • Leticia

Oh!!! I missed that event. Hopefully we find a location soon.

      February 5, 2014

Location suggestion: Mimi's Cafe 1880 MALL OF GEORGIA BLVD BUFORD, GA 30519
    Open until 9pm

    February 2, 2014

    • Susan M.

I agree. It was horribly loud.

      1 · February 2, 2014

    • Leticia

Oh ok. The last time I went there it was very quiet. I guess it depends on when you go.

      February 3, 2014

  • Susan M.

Never been, but worth a try.

    February 2, 2014

  • Ginny Sweetland S.

I have been there and the food was very good and it was quiet. I think it's worth a try.

Hi to all! I've only been able to make one meeting but I am planning to attend in March. February 18th I'll be in Miami. Hope it's warmer than this week.

Maybe everyone already knows this, but you can get The Lost Girls in Rome on amazon.com for 78 cents and four dollars shipping, not too bad. it comes from England but I got my last book from there in about two weeks.

    1 · January 14, 2014

    • Susan R.

I got it from amazon.com. Have not received it yet but if I get it in time I will gladly lend it to anyone who still needs it.

I just saw the Bakery in question is offering Groupons and they have relocated to Lee St. in downtown Buford. Maybe we can check out their new location and try them another time.

      Until 6:00.

      January 19, 2014

Is there a separate room we can meet in?

    January 9, 2014

      Yep, I think so too.

      January 16, 2014

    • Candice

Susan, I was meaning "this" as in Feb 18.

Haha! Got it. Have fun at your event.

My suggestion would be to meet at Provino's again in February IF we like it when we meet there next week. It's a nice wintery place to meet and - hopefully - it will be quieter than what we have experienced recently. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

We could try the bakery at the Mall of Ga? I emailed you about it a few weeks ago, I can't remember the name but I talked to the manager and he said it would be fine, to just call ahead a few days before, it's the one at the back by the fountain, next to Charming Charlie.

    1 · January 8, 2014

    • Lori P.

Thank you Candice! That would be great! You'll let them know there will be about 15 people there? Great, we'll try it out. Cool! Thanks!
