Breaking Night: A Memoir-From Homeless to Harvard

We will meet Tuesday, April 15 at 6:30 to discuss Breaking Night: A Memoir of Forgiveness, Survival, and My Journey From Homeless to Harvard at Bogan Park.  We will be in the Art room.  We are to enter the park through the front door "where the flag is" and tell the person at the front desk we are there for the BBC and he/she will show us where we are to meet.  The park closes at 9, so he said we must leave the building by 8:45.  If you are bringing your own dinner, you may want to get there early, and we will start the discussion at 7:00.  Also, bring a suggestion of a book for May in general fiction category.  Thank you and see you tomorrow!

Oh, doggone it, I am disappointed but I can't make it tonight after all! I'm so sorry. My daughter works at a Spa near the Mall of GA but today had to go into midtown for continuing education. She called me to say she would be detained till nine p.m. and could I please get her kids after school and bring them home with me. I know you Grandparents will understand, hope everyone does! I just finished "Breaking Night" last night too, and gave up watching Gone With the Wind to finish it before our meeting to-nite! :-( Have fun and I will see you all next month.

Thank you Susan for opening your beautiful home to all of us! You are a wonderful hostess, generous, and thoughtful!
We will be meeting at Buford Park in downtown Buford, across from the Bona Allen home. Everyone please email me the title of your favorite book. We will have this is an opening ice breaker on April 15th. Hope to see you all there and happy reading!

Thank you Susan for hosting our book club meeting at your home on Tuesday. I had a very nice time visiting and discussing the book. I'm looking forward to next month's meeting. Will we meet at Bogan Park?

HOORAY! Bogan Park said we can have a classroom there once a month for free!!! IF you want it.

I went over to speak with someone in person today and got the thumbs up. They don't close until 9 p.m. and we can brown-bag our dinners, if we want to. There may be a time when they have all the classrooms rented and we may have to meet elsewhere, but we would be notified in advance.

I also checked with the new bakery on Lee St., but they close at 6 and would not consider staying open for us.

And I checked with the new 1872 Artist Market and Cafe' but they are not yet open for business yet.

Hope this Bogan Park works out. We can always give it a try.

Lori, what did you think about the idea of revealing the meeting location to members only? Many groups do that, but I'm not sure how it works exactly. Just a thought . . . .

Yes I like this. I will begin doing that. Hope you feel better!
