UPDATE: We are meeting at Pho Bac, and we encourage you to buy a bubble tea, when you arrive (15 minutes early) to show our thanks for providing a meeting spot. The event is rain or shine! There is a chance of a scattered rain shower or two, so bring an umbrella.
It's half game, half hike, and half ten course dinner. In other words, it's the man-bear-pig of the Buford Highway Dining World, the RESTO CRAWL!
Have you ever wanted to have your dessert as your first course? Well, you may well get your wish! The courses are randomized, and it's up to you and your team to figure out what to eat, where, and in what order.
We'll hit ten restaurants along a one-mile stretch of Buford Highway in (somewhat) randomly selected teams of four and on foot (or by orange bus). At each restaurant, you'll have a puzzle to solve, and when you do, you'll enjoy one course of your meal.
What you need to know: 1) Plan on walking several miles. 2) Bring $25 for your team's budget (You may get some back). 3) Bring water, sunscreen, good walking shoes, an umbrella, etc. 4) Although you'll go down in history as the "kewlest people ever," if your team wins, if it doesn't, you'll still have an unforgettable time and rack up plenty of interesting stories to share with folks who weren't lucky enough to be there. AND you'll enjoy a lot of great food along the way!
This will probably become an annual event. I hosted one a year or two ago as a FaceBook event, and I still get people asking me when we'll do it again. Well, we are! And they'll need to join the Buford Highway Foodies to join in on the resto-crawling fun. :)
If you have a smart phone that can read QR codes, please let us know when you sign up. Every team will need at least one member who has an app for reading codes. We can also help you get one, if you have a Windows Phone, Android, or iPhone. There are plenty of free options for download.
As always, show up if you sign up, and be fifteen minutes early or at worst on-time. Repeat no-showers are cleansed from our ranks on a regular basis. Remember: There is ALWAYS traffic in the ATL. Plan accordingly. :)
