Time to Thai....

How many people have asked me"when are we going to do good Thai Food." I say let's do better. Let's do Thai food that is based on Street style food. In a beautiful enviroment.

Voted among one of Atlanta's best new restaurant in 2010, Tuk Tuk Thai Food Loft brings new flavors and creations of Thai Cuisine to Atlanta. Offering a variety of small plates done in a tapas style, as well as larger entrees that showcase gourmet Thai Street Food. Chef Dee Dee Niyomkul, daughter of Charlie & Nan Niyomkul, (Creators of Nan's Thai & Tamarind Seed) calls upon original recipes used by her mother and grandmother, an original street food vendor in Bangkok, to enchant local diners. Bringing these unique flavors and spices to the table in a real gourmet fashion.

The Tuk Tuk, a local taxi-like service takes you through many of the signature dishes one would expect to see, smell in taste in Bangkok! The elevated skyline views, seen from the patio are some of the best in the city!

So as you can read the ratings for this place is off the map. It is a little off the Buford path. But should be worth the detour. We will do this in the private dining room. We will order family style. We will enjoy many flavours and tastes to excite us. We might pay a bit more as this is a little more upscale. But it will be worth it. We will split the bill after, with exception to any alcohol that you consume. Be on time or you will be sent to a Klingon work camp.

Thanks to all that enjoyed the food and event last night. A big thanks goes to the staff and manager at Tuk Tuk Thai for helping us split into 2 groups; One group with Set menu and one with a la carte. It made the night. The food was really good. The flavors and spice were well done. This venue has really good quality. I think it will be my go to place for Thai.

I just saw Edgar's post on the cost and since there is 3 of us on my tab, I'm going to have to cancel out. Hate to do it. Please don't send me to the Klingon death Camp.

Ouch! This one is far more expensive than I would have thought when I looked at the prices on the menu.

Just saw Edgar's note. This restaurant isn't near Piedmont Hospital. It's near the Amtrack station, not far from SCAD. It's in the shopping center that includes Sam Flax, Aveda and the Viking Store.

What is your best Thai moment. Mine was eating Pad See Ew for the first time. Big fat rice noodles, slices of fresh beef, and chiles lot's of chilies.
