  • September 11, 2013 · 6:30 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

The free networking reception, hors d'oeuvres and a two hour open bar, is hosted by NABA (National Association of Black Accountants) but all professions are welcomed. The coordinator informed me that last year they had over 100 students and professionals attended.

Join new and current members, along with their guests for an incredible networking experience! The NABA, Inc. - Philadelphia Chapter, in the Union League which is arguably one of the most historic and luxurious venues in Center City, will host a membership reception and mixer. Hors d'oeuvres and a TWO hour open bar will be provided.

The event will be attended by all black professionals therefore once inside it may be hard locate each other. 6:30 - 6:45pm I will be on the stairs of Union League at the Board Street entrance. After that best way to reach me is text.

I got there a little later, but the turnout seemed to be good. The networking was good, met a few people who do NP accounting (which I need), made a few other good connections and meet some cool people, invited one of them to joing Buppies! Thanks for sharing the event info Mekel

Thanks for sharing. This could be a good way for me to find new volunteers to work with my nonprofit. I'm always looking for additional financial and accounting (and those from many other backgrounds and industries too) professionals to be guest speakers or lead workshops for students and adults.

Thank you Saniyayah and Bruce, it's THE ONE LESS FOUNDATION - we have a lot of opportunities. Please take a look at our website: www.theonelessfoundation.org for basic information and then you can email me at: [masked] for more details on the opportunities, and to learn about the ones not listed on the website.
Our youth programs are in a few schools in the city and at other nonprofits so we have daytime opportunties as well as afterschool, evening and weekend opportunities. I also have a lot of need for people willing and able to lead community workshops and town halls on a variety of topics (many related to finance and economic and some related to education). Also bear with us, the site is not as up to date as I'd like as we are working on a new website so we haven't been doing major work on the current one.

Oh, I have a another meeting prior to this tomorrow evening so I won't be at right at 6:30pm, it'll be closer to 7:00p or 7:30pm before I get there; however I look forward to meeting both of you and everyone else.

This is a great avenue. I am a 2011 graduate with a BS in accounting but sadly I have yet to have the opportunity of working in my field with taking care of my aunt 24/7 etc. I am now back in the workforce and looking for a great opportunity to do so. Thank you for the invite..

And we could use a new accountant for our organization too!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
