Business Model Generation Meetup

It's been a number of months since we have held a meeting. We're going to try a different format for this session, that will involve volunteers from the group who, prior to the meeting, have created a business model canvas and run one or more "Lean startup style" experiments against it. They'll present their findings, and then we'll break into small groups to help them analyze and optimize.

We need volunteers to present a business model and conduct an experiment.

Here's what were going to do on Oct 28:

• The meeting will start with a short review of how to use the business model canvas to conduct customer discovery and validation. We'll keep this really simple - 10 minutes, as just a primer.

• Then we're going to have three people present their canvases to the group, and discuss the experiments they ran and the results they found. Each presenter will get no more than five minutes to present their business, their assumptions, their experiment, and the results.

• Then we're going to break out into our workshops. Each workshop group will choose one of the businesses that was presented, and evaluate how the results of their experiment impact the business model, and what additional experiments should be run over the course of the next month. Groups will give their feedback directly to the presenters. Depending on the number of people we have, we may have multiple breakout groups per canvas.

• Finally, we'll take volunteers to present at the next meeting, and maybe the group will vote on the ones they are most excited about.

Let us know if you'd like to volunteer!

See you there!

It was great to meet people with different backgrounds and experiences! (beyond my normal grad students community + my customer/industry community) Thank you so much for everyone who took time and gave me valuable feedback to make Geleyi's business model better.

Thank you so much to our presenters, our sponsors, and all the folks who attended last night! It was a great reboot to an important meetup. I loved how involved everyone was and look forward to the next event... we'll post a date shortly.

Hi! Are you expecting to have any rooms due to the normal amount of no-shows at Meet-ups? Don't know about your past experience, but I'd love to join in...

I've been on the list to attend for a while but when I tried to add a guest this evening, I was bumped off onto the waiting list. Would it be possible for me to get back on the attendee list without my guest? I was very much counting on attending. Thanks.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
