The 1st meet up I suggest we talk about how to INCREASE our bill rates.

One of the ways to GROW your company is to find ways to increase your bill rates. Inside this meetup I will lead a conversation on new ideas to increase your bill rate. Let me know if you would like to discuss something else.

As much as I'm struggling with the niche idea, I also am very attracted to it for the purpose of leading in an industry. Since my business is called Kickstand... maybe I can focus on business that relate to that. Motorcycles, Bicycles, etc...

Hi Octavia, not necessarily, what kind of startups?

      April 3

    • octavia warren

Ha, my original idea was all startups. However, I am leaning towards anything OTHER than tech startups. I feel like its a very large industry right now and soon all designers will latch on. So i can be there to fill the void for all the other startups that get overlooked! Well actually, looking at my track record, i mostly like working with startups that are services based, not product based.

pitch on value. i think the web design sale can be made more efficiently when you give your client a clear idea of what you are doing for their business. for artists that means opening the world market to their art products and make money while they sleep. I gotta go in and edit the text on my website and make the portfolio pass on the message that we are experts at artist websites

I enjoyed being able to share thoughts with other entrepreneurs and though my focus isn't on web design the subject of how to increase bill rates is an issue that various organizations face and I'm thankful for being part of the Meetup and the opportunity to share my perspective.

What a great Meetup! Thanks Gene for organizing.

Tonight's question was, "How do you create value for your customers?" Lot's of great discussion about how to improve rates by raising the value of the product or service provided in the eyes of the buyer.

Here is the link to Gene's Abeo site, http://coreelevation.abeo.us
Join and take the two surveys on the Get Started page, Social Style and Hidden Motivators.

Knowing your style and motivators will help you improve your effectiveness with others, especially customers. The site can also be used for online discussion between meetings.

For those that were interested there is also the Founders' Organization site - http://foundersorganization.com

Lastly, please send a Twitter thank you to Atlanta Tech Village for the use of the conference room, the handle is @atltechvillage

    See you next month.

Interesting group of people. I am glad that I attended as well. My take away is that I an INCREASE my billing rate but for me I am committed to adding value for the increase. Unless, of course I am not currently charging enough. which is the case. So in conclusion, I want to INCREASE my rate while INCREASING the Value I bring to my clients.
