Creating and refining your Unique Selling Proposition

Are you ready to take your business to the next level?  The first half of our meeting will be a presentation on developing your USP. One of the most basic yet most powerful tools in your marketing arsenal is your USP - Unique Selling Proposition.  There are other names for it, but, whatever it's called, all your marketing should refer back to it and follow it's guidelines.  A great USP will make your marketing more effective, more targeted, and, as a result, less expensive.  We'll be going over a number of things to help you determine why your prospects should buy from you and not the competition.

The second half will consist of everyone attending participating in a mastermind session.  The exact nature will be determined by the attendees' needs and how many attend.  We may also hotseat one to two people each meeting.  We are here to solve each other's problems, so think about your biggest concerns, challenges and goals and bring them to the meeting.

Suggestions for locations and preferred times for future events are welcome.  My guess is that each meeting will last 1.5-2 hours.  I held similar meetups in NY and the attendees loved them, with USP being one of the most requested topics to return to.

These meetings will all deal with the nitty gritty of your business.  Prepare to be challenged and to walk away with plans to reach your goals.

I've seen similar presentations before elsewhere. I'm looking forward to more open discussion next time.

    Main points:

    Choose 1 thing for USP
Short, easy to express, repeatable, believable phrase
    Focuses on single, ultimate benefit
    Create desire, tension, and urgency
Should be what the customer immed thinks of when customer is mentioned
What is the most valuable element?
You can state it before you attain it
You must deliver what you propose
It needs to state what no one else is stating

Unfortunately, I couldn't find a good space for a weekend meeting (they were booked). But, maybe for a future event a Saturday will work.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
