Dear Elise,

You are invited to SMP Tech's "Meet the Experts" September 27, 2012 complimentary Forum Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). This Forum, will focus on Geometiric Dimensioning and Tolerancing as the language of symbols used on mechanical drawings to efficiently and accurately communicate geometry requirements for features on parts and assemblies. We will also provide detailed information on the correct use of GD&T on engineering part drawings.

GD&T-CC-Image We are excited to have John Feuerhelm as our featured speaker. With over 25 years of Quality Management and Mechanical Inspection  experience, he offers training on a variety of Quality and Inspection topics, including training for Zeiss CMM's.

John's presentation will focus on core concepts from the ASME Y14.5 standard and go through a series of hands-on exercises so that the attendees gain a better practical understanding of how to apply GD&T on drawings and what those dimensions mean to parts in the real world. CAD-based Manufacturing and Coordinate Metrology are becoming more predominant.

Frank Dutra, President and Founder of Advanced Machining Techniques, Inc. will show examples of drawings that have the improper use of GD&T that drives part cost up. Other examples of drawing problems will be presented that will illustrate how to save money on mechanical parts.

Advanced Machining Techniques, Inc. has a well-educated GD&T workforce to interpret your drawings correctly. Their state of the art manufacturing facility is designed to incorporate lean flow strategies in our processes. AMT has supported their customers for over 25 years by teaming with them to provide best value products.  This forum will provide the tools needed to lower costs by understanding that when GD&T's used properly, it will reduce manufacturing cost.

The Forum is being held at AMT which will provide you the opportunity to see how their manufacturing staff interprets drawing and is able to improve lean flow strategies when GD&T is properly used on their customer's drawings. This Forum will give you the tools you need to lower your costs by understanding that when GD&T used properly, it will lower your manufacturing costs.

The GD&T Forum will include a door prize drawing and complimentary buffet lunch for all attendees, as well as the opportunity to take a tour of AMT's machining shop.
