I am a former member and Co-Organizer of Northwest Butts on Bikes up here in Portland, OR. I get down to San Diego at least once a year, always for the AYH Christmas Bike Ride. I ride long distances, RAO, FC 508, etc.
several times a week, over 10,000 miles/year
I can ride an A+ pace all day (and all night, and all the next day) and will ride any hill you want to put in front of me.
On my road bike I ride 100 miles most Saturdays and Sundays. I have finished the 530 mile Race Across Oregon, and the Furnace Creek 508
Just continue to have fun on two wheels!
it's all good
Hey Kevin, nice meeting you the other day. Since you've been around the block and then some in the cycling world, I won't tell you about the basics of our rides, but would still like to welcome you to the group!
Welcome to our quirky little group, Kevin. If you join us on a ride, you'll need no introduction.
Thanks Kevin, I see that you are doing your own RAMROD, quite an accomplishment! Maybe next year I will have the strength to do that, but not this year and not the week before STP. It was great ridding with you guys.
Hey I am interested! But I dont have a bike or any gear yet, I just need to know what kind of bike I will need and if there is any other basics. I have been looking into mountain biking fun, and this seems like awsome way to get conditioned for it. Can it be done with a mountain bike?
Hi Kevin and thanks for the warm welcome. I do have rain gear so.....who knows???
I want to go on several and really get up to speed with this group. I have heard really nice things about you all. - I am also on a crew team so I cannot go eve. but I really want to ride! I do not think I am ready for even 25 mi. yet though so I am looking for a novice start ... have hybrid will travel...
Hi Kevin, welcome to BOBie's of the Inland Empire here in California! You definitely bike a lot! Look forward to meeting you. Keith and I are coming up for the Petal Pedal Century Ride in June!
Keven, Thanks for leading the ride today. You were a great leader in keeping everyone together. I really had a great time. Good luck with your century ride tomorrow. I wish that I was in half the shape that you are in but I'll get there. See you at the next ride. Marlee
I just wanted to say thanks for your well stated e-mail in support of Brian. I don't know what's going on, and the better part of my character says that I don't need to know. I'm sorry to hear that we've lost at least one member over this, but it seems that they made a choice and chose not to follow the group rules.
Thanks for being the one to step up and support Brian in his thankless job.
