BUZZY KIDS VILLAGE
Collaborative Space for Homeschoolers and Stay at Home Parents
An Educational Outdoor Center sponsored by the City of North Miami
Buzzy Kids, Inc. is a private, Non For Profit, all inclusive, eclectic, un-school based, and a Collaborative Montessori Inspired Space for homeschool families and Stay at Home Parnets with children under 6 years of age. It provides a natural environment for conducting enrichment programs helping younger children obtain high quality educational experiences.
In 2010, a group of parents saw the need for high quality and affordable educational programs for her toddler and founded Buzzy Kids Inc. Patricia leon, like a founder began organizing mobile activities around Miami. Buzzy Kids Inc. evolved from a small, parent-run playgroup to an active community of parents becoming a Non For Profit Organization in 2013. Buzzy Kids Inc. was thrilled to receive the support of the City of North Miami and opened Buzzy Kids Village, our Collaborative Space located in Enchanted Forest Elaine Gordon Park.
Buzzy Kids Village is a parent-aided organization where collaboration is crucial. By collaboration we mean that families come together to support the academic, physical, social and emotional development of their children.
The objective of the Collaborative Space is to provide comprehensive and quality enrichment Mommy-Daddy & Me programs in a natural environment. The Collaborative Space hopes to empower each caregiver to provide comprehensive and quality education to their children by developing their skills, abilities, attitudes and knowledge; strengthening their self-esteem and autonomy and seeking their full realization as human beings.
Un-schoolers, homeschoolers and schoolers of all ages are welcome to attend Buzzy Kids Village’s programs or use our space to held their own. Our center currently provides programs for newborns to preschoolers but parents with children in elementary, middle and high school are encouraged to request a space to gather and create a colaborative space for their kids during the school year. Our focus is to promote a sense of community and to create a safe space to gather and learn together.
The center offers to parents interested on Montessori approach an inspired environment, materials and a curriculum from newborn to 6 years.
It is a place where children and their caregivers must attend together at all times to promote a cooperative environment for learning. In addition, daily activities, including Music, Green Earth, First Nature Class, Science Discovery, Yoga, Sports and fitness, Cooking, Art and Craft, Theater, and Movement are taught by our associate instructors.
Parents share the responsibility of upholding the Collaborative Space guiding principles, facilitated through the staff. The staff, parents and children will continuously work towards our ultimate goal of blending community and education, with special attention to honoring our differences.
Some benefits of the Village include:
*Children learn by experience and grow with joy.
*We help to build foundations in younger children to better adapt in the real world. The early childhood years are critically important to develop positive dispositions towards learning and healthy behaviors.
*Parents receive educational and psychological tools to better understand their children if desired.
*Provides an extended family experience for children and caregivers.
*Offers a safe space to gather and learn together.
*We promote respect, honesty, tolerance, joy and commitment to our community.
*Parents experience community support and mentoring.
*Children are able to participate in additional enrichment classes for a low cost.
*The educational model used is primarily Montessori. Our guide is always the idea that children learn by meaningful experiences.
