Attend Sunnyslope WINS Community Policing Meeting

January 15, 2013:
Sunnyslope WINS Community Policing Meeting
Medical Marijuana Laws and Enforcement,

presented by Officers Hird and Tobey, city of Phoenix Police Department NET Squad, and Larry Tom, city of Phoenix Planning and Development Department.

"I was so impressed to see this is happening, FINALLY, in our communities. I will definitely plan to be there to learn if other police stations are reaching out in respective communities. Has your local police department had their AZPOST training? They should ALL be educated about our new law as to prevent embarrassment and confusion and to stop the harassment of patients. That has not been the case. The Arizona Medical Marijuana Act (AMMA) has been in place for 2 years now. We have frequent reports and first hand knowledge of Phoenix Police officers who have not been educated. Unfortunately this places the officers in a position to harass first and ask questions later."

"Hopefully Outreach like this one will prevent future negative occurrences." Rain Baker
